I’m 30 and slim. I had chin liposuction but they only did under the chin and not along the jaw as there are more nerve endings there. I don’t like the shape of my jaw, it is quite square. In the pictures, I show how my jaw looks when I pull my skin tighter, and the shape is so much nicer. It’s around the jowl area I don’t like. Would a face lift fix this? I’m also curious about jaw filler if that would improve the appearance of my jaw too. Thank you
Answer: Jawline Definition Non-Surgical Cosmetic Procedures: Several non-surgical treatments can enhance the jawline: Dermal Fillers: Injectable fillers can be strategically placed along the jawline and chin to add volume, definition, and create a sharper angle. Results are temporary, typically lasting from several months to a year or more, depending on the type of filler used. Botox: In some cases, Botox injections into the masseter muscles (the chewing muscles at the sides of the jaw) can help slim a wider or more square jawline by relaxing these muscles over time. Kybella: This injectable treatment is specifically designed to dissolve fat cells under the chin (submental fat), which can improve the definition of the jawline by reducing fullness in that area. Multiple treatments are usually required. Skin Tightening Treatments: Procedures like radiofrequency (RF) or ultrasound can help tighten the skin around the jawline, improving definition by reducing sagging. 5. Surgical Options: For more significant and permanent changes, surgical procedures are available: Chin Augmentation (Genioplasty): This involves placing a silicone implant or repositioning the chin bone to increase projection and definition of the lower jawline. Neck Lift (Lower Rhytidectomy): This surgery addresses sagging skin, excess fat, and muscle banding in the neck, which can significantly improve the appearance of the jawline. Neck Liposuction: Removing excess fat from under the chin and neck can reveal a more defined jawline. It's often combined with other procedures like a neck lift or chin augmentation. Submentoplasty (Chin Tuck): This procedure focuses on tightening the muscles and removing fat directly under the chin through a small incision. Jawline Surgery (Orthognathic Surgery): In cases of significant jaw misalignment or structural issues, orthognathic surgery can reshape and reposition the jawbone for both functional and aesthetic improvements.

Answer: Masseter Botox Hello! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Aesthetic Skin - Winnetka & Chicago. This is a great question. If you're looking to soften the appearance of a square jaw and create a more contoured, feminine shape, masseter Botox can be an excellent solution. The masseter muscles are located on either side of the jaw and are responsible for chewing. When these muscles are large or overactive, they can create a broader, more angular jawline, giving it a "square" look. By injecting Botox into these muscles, the Botox works to temporarily relax and reduce the size of the masseters, softening the jawline and creating a more V-shaped or slender appearance. The treatment is non-invasive, requires no downtime, and the effects are typically seen within a few weeks, with results lasting around 3-6 months. Masseter Botox is a subtle yet effective way to enhance the shape of your face without surgery, and it can be especially beneficial if you feel that your jawline is too pronounced. I hope this helps and best of luck!

Answer: Liposuction, possibly anterior neck lift It is very likely that more aggressive liposuction, Renuvion (J plasma) skin tightening procedure should be considered as well as, possibly anterior neck lift? In person or teleconference consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation in face/neck rejuvenation is recommended. Good luck.

Answer: Consider A Robust HA Contouring Filler For Defining & Straightening The Jawline The short answer to your question is that I have been using a robust HA contouring filler for many years with gratifying results for better defining and straightening the jawline. For optimal results, the filler needs to be injected and fanned properly through the lower cheek and along the jawline starting from the region of the angle of the mandible. Treatment usually takes about fifteen to twenty minutes, the results typically immediate. and usually engenders little to no significant downtime. You would be wise to seek consultation and treatment from a board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler expert. Hope this helps and best of luck. .
