Hello, I did the Endotine to lift my cheekbone in Seoul 1 and a half year ago, from then on, I have been getting a migraine. Also, I can feel the lump on the left side, below my cheekbone. The doctor told me that Endotine would be dissolved in a half year. Now I wonder the lump is the screws of Endotine and course my headaches. Is it too difficult to remove the screws or mental plants after 1 and a half year of surgery. Many thanks to your answers.
Answer: Pain related to Endotine? The symptoms you are experiencing are not likely related to the presence of an Endotine device at this point. The device should have been completely absorbed by now. Scar tissue may have formed in the area of the device as the area healed and can be causing symptoms. If a "metal" screw was placed, it was not a part of an Endotine device. You should get a copy of your operative note to know exactly what was done and consult a board certified plastic surgeon familiar with the use of Endotines

Answer: Endotine mid-cheek lift devices are bioabsorbable Sorry to hear about your predicament. Prior to the introduction of long lasting, malleable fillers, such as Voluma, Radiesse, Juvederm UltraPlus, etc. I used to offer mid-cheek lifts, using Endotine devices, which are composed of a polymer of lactic acid. The absorption time is estimated to be approximately 6-9months. The lump below your left cheek bone could represent some of the midcheek fatpad, which was formerly engaged by the "tines" or claws of the device. The "tail" of the device was fastened to the temporal fascia and this may have contributed to your headaches. I would not recommend trying to surgically remove Endotine remnants but rather concentrate on identifying and treating entitites responsible for your headaches.
