I had Botox for the first time in my glabella region yesterday. I am only 25 and don't have wrinkles, just a slight vertical line on my left eyebrow which is somedays more noticeable than others. Why did the doctor only recommend 12 Units? She said alternatively she could do more along brow line (she only did there injections on middle and inner eyebrow corners after viewing progress. Is this normal? I've seen everyone else get 20-25 on here! Thank you.
Answer: Botox Most of my patients say that they notice best results when they have their subsequent treatments within 3-6 months. If you choose to wait 6-12 months, you may not achieve the best results possible. It can take up to 10 days to see the full effect of Botox. If you do have any lines remaining after a treatment, you may want to consider a chemical or laser peel in conjunction with Botox treatments. They may have put 12 because they didnt think it would need more.

Answer: Botox Dosing The dosing for Botox is variable and based on the desired effect, the amount of current animation, and the strength of the muscles. For new patients, however, the exact dosing is often discovered through a trial and error process. See link below. Some rough guidelines are:Forehead: 16 unitsCrowfeet: 8 units per sideGlabella: 18 units12 units into the glabella is a reasonable starting dose. The effect of the injection will begin to be seen in 3-7 days. If you do not achieve the effect you want with 12 units, additional Botox can always be added for more effect.Consultation with a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery would be the next best step.

Answer: Botox Thank you for your question in regards to Botox. It would be best to discuss the amount of units with your provider who injected you. Since you are a first time Botox user, they may have went on the conservative side if you did not want to be fully corrected. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment.I hope this helps.

Answer: 12 units for the 11s Thank you for your question and for sharing your experience with us. I normally start with 20 units of Botox for the average patient as this provides a very reasonable response. I will increase the dose if I noticed someone has a very strong muscular show. In addition, I will use less if they have a very weak muscular show or still have some activity from a previous Botox treatment. In your situation, your injector may have wanted to just treat the one line that you have. If you find that you are still able to frown and create that line, and you may want to go back and have additional units placed more laterally.

Answer: 12 units of Botox for glabella While I would say a typical dose of Botox may be around 20-25 units for the glabella, everyone is different so some people may still obtain a good result with a lower dose. I have used as little as 10 units to treat the glabella in some people and this frequently can work well in the correct patient. You can always add more but you cannot reduce it once it is injected.
