I just had my breast augmentation done yesterday. I was looking at my post op paperwork and my card says I received SRX implants. I paid for SSX implants and I have paperwork I signed consenting to SSX implant style. What should I do? Here is a picture of my card.
Answer: What does SRX mean on my implant card? Thank you for your question. SRX and SSX are two types of gel implants. The SRX are the traditional inspira gel and the ssx are the soft-touch gel. For completeness there are SCX which are the high-cohesive gels. The SRX are the least expensive, SSX in the middle and the SCX the most. This certainly does not mean the SRX are an inferior implant. They are just a different feel. I use about 80% SRX in my practice. If you did consent to and for for the SSX and got the SRX, I would have a resonable discussion with your surgeon and ask for the difference in price. Often times it is $300-$600 per implant depending on your surgeon's volume and pricing from Allergan. You still have a great implant so not to worry, but you would in my opinion be owed a refund.

Answer: SRX vs SSX Thanks for your question! That middle letter refers to the cohesiveness of the implant. The "R" stands for "responsive" and the "S" stands for "soft touch". If you paid for and consented to the soft touch implants, I would certainly call your plastic surgeon and have a conversation with him/her to clarify. Good luck!

Answer: What Does SRX on my #breastimplantwarranty Card Mean? Allergan implants have 3 degrees of implant consistencies that allow for a soft, firm and firmer feel. The cohesive implant is the firmest, followed by the soft-touch implant, and then the responsive gel implant. When you read SRX on your breast implant warranty card, it translates: "S" smooth, "R" responsive silicone gel, "X" extra-full profile An SSX implant would be a smooth, soft-touch, extra-full implant. For further explanation regarding your implant selection, I would recommend you follow up with your plastic surgeon to clarify.

Answer: Breast Implant Terminology Allergan has three densities of silicone Inspiration breast implants (c for cohesive, s for soft cohesive, and r for regular). There are different nuisances with each but more importantly there are different costs. The X in the SRX and SSX is for extra high profile. This should be discussed with your plastic surgeon.

Answer: Implants SRX is the catalog number of the Allergen implant. SSX is just another style of implant made by the same company. If your surgeon charges more for SSX than SRX, then he owes you a refund. If the charge in is office is the same for each style, then he/she decided that style was better for you.
