Hello, I was looking into myellevate but I was quoted myellevate with renuvion. I have skin laxity under the chin and a bit of jowl. I have had Botox for bruxism for years and with my age, 47, and botox skin is sagging under the chin and a bit in the jowl. Could you please tell me what you think? Are both procedures necessary? It’s so little that everyone I show says they aren’t really seeing the issue but it’s sagging.

Answer: Treatment options When speaking of Renuvion, since you were talking about the face and neck, do you need to specifically indicate if you are referring to the subdermal treatment or dermal skin ablative treatment. The device can be used as two very different types of treatments on the face and neck. For most neck work, the device is used after liposuction under the skin. My first hand experience was pretty dismal having purchased the device and used it for a year. I literally saw no skin tightening, and I cannot in good faith recommended to my patients. As a skin ablative device on the face it is similar to a CO2 laser treatment. They are radically different treatment options using the same device. I don’t know much about Myellevate other than the treatment was invented by Gregg Mueller, MD. I know Dr. Mueller personally, and he is a highly talented at the goal provider so at least in the hands of talented providers that the treatment may actually be quite legitimate though I’m inherently opposed to the idea of it thread lifts. For your age, I think your face and neck are holding up extremely well, and there is something to be said about excepting life and age with grace and dignity, though for some people cosmetic surgical intervention can be highly rewarding. My best advice is to stay away from Renuvion as a sub, dermal skin tightening treatment. It will not deliver what you’re hoping for and it’s more likely to end up leaving you with problems and issues you were not anticipating. Lastly, there is a treatment that is more commonly done on bearded men, which is a direct skin, excision under the chin, which can give it just enough of a result towards the potential scar. Discard, tense to not be visible, because of the location in the face tends to be very forgiving, especially on fair skinned individuals. Different providers have different versions of how to do this but it’s generally called a cervicoplasty though that term can be interpreted in many different ways. My best final recommendation to you is to not focus so much on the treatment option but instead focus your efforts on finding the best provider. In the hands of the best plastic surgeon, you will get the best treatment. Someone who’s mastered the art of facial aesthetics can recommend treatments that are time proven, and will deliver consistent quality results that can be backed up by hundreds of before and after pictures. The right provider will also tell you when you shouldn’t have surgery or procedures to avoid. Good luck, Mats Hagstrom MD
