Root canal two weeks after dermal filler, what are the risks?

Unfortunately, I have to do an urgent root a canal just after two weeks since I had a Juvederm dermal filler in my chin and marionette lines. The pain is to much to postpone the procedure. I understand that by now the filler would have settled and unlike to shift. But I mostly worry about infection. What is the real risk of filler getting infected? Can anything be done to prevent it? Thank you so much.

At two weeks post treatment the risk of infection related to your prior filler injections is very low.  The product will have settled by this point and unless you had unexpected complications you should be completely fine to proceed with your root canal.

I am sorry you have a toothache and need dental treatment after dermal filler. 
I would always recommend waiting 4-6 weeks before getting dental treatment after a dermal filler procedure. We set this time frame because fillers can cause infections during this period. The danger comes from bacteria entering the bloodstream and settling on the filler material during dental work.
If you have a dental emergency, seeing a general practitioner (GP) before getting any dental work done is best. Your doctor can prescribe antibiotics to prevent any infection caused by your dental treatment.

Thank you for your question. I think the risk of your filler getting contaminated with bacteria at this point is very low. Most infections associated with filler will occur because of contamination on the skin that is introduced into the tissue at the time of injection of the filler. The actual root canal procedure will not take place in the same tissue where your filler was placed. Best of luck to you with your root canal!

Your fillers are far away enough from dental structures anatomically. So possibility of filler area infection is  less  lower than your guess. No need to worry
