Synthetic hair implant; need to remove it. Can you help? (Photos)

Synthetic hair transplant is illegal in the U.S. If you had it done and you are having issues, it is best to see your doctor as soon as possible.

This will need to be removed quickly and manually, otherwise it will continue to harm your scalp and create an inflammatory response that will continually damage your skin and follicles.  Their removal will take a few hours. 

Inflammation, infection and scarring sre recognised complications of artificial hair implants. From the photos, there seems to be a lot of scalp redness and you should see a specialist as soon as possible to decide the best management for your problem. If the biofibers become infected you could get very ill and even develop septicaemia. My advice is don't delay - get it sorted out as soon as possible.

Removal of Hair Implants. Please be clear, this patient is talking about problems after placement of implants or synthetic hair which different than transplants. Many years ago we were very involved testifying before the California State Legislature and Medical Boards to make this process illegal because we saw many patients with complications similar to yours. Treatment will vary but it is necessary to remove the implants and/or the diseased scalp before reconstruction. See a surgeon experienced treating these complications.

Be seen by someone who has had experience with removing fiber hsir implants. Often the fibers break off beneath the surface of the skin and actual pieces of the scalp have to be removed and those areas of the scalp have to be reconstructed.    

As you may know, the use of synthetic hair in the US is illegal and these implants are outlawed in most European countries for the very reason you are seeing now, infection and inflammation from each synthetic hair.
