I am considering getting hair transplants. I have a bad widows peak; options? (Photos)

My hairline is bad and I can't pull my hair back. My father has some balding in the back as well and we want to go together! I have had many issues with surgery in the past (not related to hair transplants) so I am very nervous to pick a Surgeon. I would feel more comfortable with a Dr. who only works with hair transplants. I am in Salt Lake City, Utah and would love any recommendations. I am also interested in a pricing for me and my Dad as we would be going together, and more info on recovery.

Yes, we do hair transplants in Utah.  We have a very busy practice with many, many transplants, definitely the most in Utah.  You have kind of hit on an interesting theme, in that hair restoration is a procedure without a defined home.  There are doctors who do hair that are trained in general plastics, facial plastics, dermatology and others..... Based on your picture and the description of your Dad's hair loss, I believe you would both be excellent Neograft candidates. I do not exclusively perform hair transplant, as you request in your message above. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, though, with extensive surgical experience with hair transplant, and have recently decided to pursue the Neograft procedure, as I feel it is the best at FUE/FUT. You and your father identified a quite common family hair scenario where the center portion of the scalp retains hair even as the more lateral (temporal) portions of the scalp lose hair. Based on your donor region from the sides, assuming there has been on zone 4 thinning, you have approximately 6000-7000 grafts available to you.  Harvesting options you can choose from are FUSS which leaves a permanent linear scar and FUE harvesting.  Do not get confused with Neograft and ARTAS, these are both automated techniques of performing FUE harvesting, generally reserved for clinics that are beginning the FUE practice or with surgeons whom are unable to participate in harvesting of the procedure such as ARTAS due to stamina that carrying out FUE harvesting entails. Also seeking a specialist in this field is KEY;  this is an important procedure and takes years of skill set and singular focus on the practice to master.  Good luck on your search.
