Sculptra; how many vials per area?

The number of sessions or vials is used a general guide but the actual number of vials used can vary based on how much volume loss exists. Some people need only 2 vials and some need 16-20 over a period of time. RegardsDr. Janjua

The number of Sculptra vials used in a single treatment sessions and the number of sessions needed to obtain the desired result will vary by individual.  The severity of fat loss at the time treatment is begun and the number of areas treated will influence how many vials are needed in a treatment and how many treatments sessions are required.  If someone were only having the temples treated, then it would be possible to use one vial to treat both sides.  It is also possible that less than one vial would be sufficient to treat both sides of the temples.  Some people may reach their desired result after just 2 treatment sessions, but for some it may take 6 or more sessions.  Without seeing pictures of you before and after treatment and knowing the details of each treatment session, it is difficult to give you further advice.  

The amount of Sculptra used will vary with the practitioner's technique and desired results. It takes 3-6 months to see results with Sculptra. Sculptra is a great product for improving facial volume and collagen building, but for best results, I recommend using it in a combination depending on desired results. I combine Sculptra with other fillers, lasers, toxins and skin care to give immediate results. Thank you for your question. Only rarely in my practice do I think of sculptra as product to treat a specific area. Sculptura is best used as a pan face volumizer. You can concentrate on certain areas but in general the entire face should be treated. The vast majority of patients treated with sculptra in my practice receive a total of six vials. Two at each treatment for three total treatments. Rarely do I need to use more. Best of luck! 

Sculptra is a filler that works by stimulating your own fibroblasts to produce collagen in the treated areas.  The result is subtle volume correction that is produced by your own body.  1 vial of Sculptra is usually split between the temples, however some physicians use 2 vials at one treatment to speed up the process.  Results are achieved around 4-6 weeks; schedule a follow-up with the treating physician to assess if you are happy with the degree of volume correction.

As a general rule, one vial is needed per decade for Sculptra correction. After 8 vials, I would wait about 6 months to see the results of the current correction. It can take up to 12 months to see the full result. Typically, more vials are used per session, so only 2-3 sessions are needed. How much is needed per area is variable and I can not tell you how much is required in your case. If you are a smoker or have significant medical problems, your response to the Sculptra will be less.

Without pictures or being able to meet you in person, I can't give an opinion on what the best treatment course for you should be.  
I can tell you what I usually do, however.  In general I do 3 treatments, spaced 6 weeks apart.  I almost always do 2 vials the first treatment and generally just spread it out depending on what the patient needs.  For example if 2 vials gives 20 (1cc) syringes, I'll divide it up so patient gets 2 temple, 2 cheeks, 2 angle of jaw, 2 nasolabial fold, 1 chin and 1 to jawline.  On the other side I'll adjust depending on which areas are needed.  I do treat all areas each time, but adjust depending on the result.  
We decide how many vials the patient will need at the first visit and split it up over three visits.  I adjust where it gets injected and how much to each area depending on how the patient looks. So the next time patient may need less in the temples, more in the cheeks.  Each area needs to be treated multiple times to get a great result. 
I hope that helps.  Sculptra is a fantastic product, but it needs to be used by an experienced injector.  I would recommend seeing a facial plastic surgeon who does her own injections.
