I am currently on holiday and so have been advised by the clinic to massage the lumps. I did this with my index finger pushing and rubbing them in a circular motion. I now have been told I should be massaging them between my finger and thumb. Could I have pushed the filler into my lip line? That is also a little bumpy now and slightly darker colour. It I don’t know if this is swelling but I thought that would be gone after 10 days.
Answer: Gentle pressure applied between the thumb and forefinger may improve softening of lumps early in recovery Thank you for your question! Gentle pressure applied between the thumb and forefinger may improve softening of lumps early in recovery, but it is unlikely that you pushed the filler into your lip line. Any increase in volume was more likely the result of more tissue swelling. Remember it can take up to 2-4 weeks for filler material to soften and mature. If lumps remain at that time then pursue dissolving agents to eliminate the lumps. Best of luck!

Answer: Juvederm and bumps. First, it is very refreshing to see that you have had only 1/2 of the Juvederm syringe injected into your lip! Yes, with that amount one can accomplish great lip eversion and maintain natural curvature. It is a common practice, unfortunately, to push as much filler as possible to achieve unnatural and shapeless lips. Regarding lumps....there is absolutely nothing wrong you could have done by massaging. You can still try to flatten the lump and displace your filler rather than have it dissolved. Would be a great waste of your money. Besides, having a lump is always a fault of the injector with rare exception of either hematoma or type of localized allergic response. If you are unable to smoother your lip, you should see your injector and be firm with requesting a remedy, regardless of your injector's qualifications. Stay natural and insist on this! Good luck!
