I'm just finishing 2 rounds on obagi and I still have the melasma a little so would this laser be a good option? The deems near me do not have spectra and I'm not sure this halo is a low level laser?! I know you have to be careful in choosing one with melasma because it can ignite more pigment. Thank you!!
Answer: Melasma and Sun Spots -- Best Treamtent Is Clear + Brilliant / Fraxel 1927 with Microneedling PRP, Pro Yellow is Useful I find that clear + brilliant with microneedling/PRP and skin care is the best for melasma. once its under control you can try something stronger like venus viva or fraxel or halo. often melasma can recur if you do something too strong to start. you should do peels in between and facial masks. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Halo Works Well for Melasma As you've discovered, melasma can be a stubborn condition and can recur even after it appears to be gone. Think of melasma as a condition that's managed rather than cured. That said, the Halo laser is a good option because it can be customized based on your needs. It is the first hybrid laser of its kind and, when used by a qualified specialist, can reduce the appearance of melasma when combined with topical treatments. Be sure to find a provider who specializes in laser treatments. Good luck!

Answer: Is Halo good for Melasma? Halo is not my 'go to' treatment for melasma. In fact in my education of patients I take time to explain that most laser technology should not be first line of treatment for melasma and if used should be used carefully, at lower energy levels and using wavelengths that will not make melasma worse. The one beauty about Halo is that it is a 'cold' hybrid laser making it safer than others to treat skin of color, but melasma has a totally different dynamics of pigmentation which can respond in a very unpredictable manner to any laser treatment.

Answer: Halo for melasma Hi and thank you for your question! Melasma is very stubborn and often returns with even the smallest amount of sun exposure and can also be triggered by hormones. With that said, Halo has shown some wonderful results with melasma. It has less downtime and pain that other similar treatments. We combine it with a topical regimen, containing hydroquinone and skin lighteners. You do need to be evaluated by an experienced provider to be sure you are a good candidate for Halo.Feel free to call our office for questions. Best, Dr. Grant Stevens

Answer: Halo for Melasma The Halo is terrific with Melasma, the settings are completely customized to what you need. There are two wavelengths one ablative and one non-ablative, they can each be set separately. If you have a mixture of epidermal and dermal pigment, Halo can treat them both.Melasma isn't easy, and certainly requires combination and ongoing treatments as I am sure you know- but Halo is a terrific addition to the options available.
