I am 19 years old and only have 1 kid. my stomach is covered in stretch marks and i have diasis recti. I do not want a tummy tuck just lipo 360 and add on a skin tightening treatment. will that work to get my stomach back flat ? pictures are included
Answer: Can I just do lipo 360 to get the flat stomach I want? The short and definitive answer is......no. You have skin laxity, skin excess, and stretching of the abdominal wall muscles, none of which can be corrected with liposuction or "add-on skin tightening" treatments. I can assure you that if you proceed with a lipo procedure, you are going to be very unhappy with the results. Hope this helps. Dallas Buchanan, MD VIVIFY plastic surgery Tampa, FL

Answer: Why won't lipo 360 ever fix your stretch marks or diastasis recti? Your photo shows a potbelly and minimal fat on your belly and sides. The potbelly is caused by loose and separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti). You also have loose wrinkled skin on your abdomen. To make your belly flat, you need to fix the muscles. This can only be done with a tummy tuck. If you remove the minimal fat on your belly and sides with liposuction, your potbelly will still be there and your skin will become more wrinkled. It would be a total waste of your time and money. If you don't want a tummy tuck, then don't do anything.

Answer: Need Abdominoplasty for Muscle Repair Although there is some excess of skin and fat on the anterior abdomen, the contour that you dislike is likely coming from rectus diastasis, or muscle separation. This can unfortunately only be fixed with a formal abdominoplasty. SMARTLipo and similar procedures can help to tighten the skin to a degree but they will not help the convexity of the lower abdomen.

Answer: Diastasis abnormal separation of parts normally joined Though completing Liposuction would result in the removal of the stubborn fat, help enhance your hourglass figure, and improve your contour, it will not result in a perfectly flat abdomen. Diastasis Recti, the abnormal separation of the two "strap muscles" (Recti muscles) of the front of the abdomen causes a protuberance which is not "cured" by Liposuction. Though the prominence of your stomach will not be as pronounced after the removal of the fat, the abdomen will not be wash-board flat. In order to avoid surgical repair, which would be completed during a tummy tuck, I would recommend that you Google exercises to manage Diastasis Recti. These exercises in combination with weight loss followed by Liposuction may help you achieve your goal.

Answer: Lipo 360 can give good results but Tummy Tuck will likely be a better Chaylam, Thank you for sharing your photos. From your photos it appears you have a moderate protuberance/ bulge in your abdomen. Some this could be from diastasis recti or some fat inside the belly wall [ visceral fat] . If it from diastasis you would need a tummy tuck to treat the diastasis. Tummy Tuck will also give you the tightest skin. Lipo 360 with skin tightening can give you an improved to much improved belly and flanks. The recovery for Liposuction is faster and easier. The cost of liposuction is usually less. So you could do Liposuction 360 it may not give you the best result. I appreciate your preferences and I think Liposuction 360 is a reasonable choice but please understand the choice might be a compromise of faster recovery over the absolute best result. Hope that helps. Dr Wright

Answer: Tummy tuck Dear Chaylam, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Liposuction would remove fat tissue but you will probably have loose skin. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
