Smart Lipo on banana rolls? (Photo)

Obviously you are exercising and watching your diet and you have a lovely hour glass figure. The general pearl of wisdom re the banana roll is: don't mess with the banana roll. As you wisely mentioned above the risk of treating this area is the potential 'sagging' of the buttocks.
I would recommend that you consider Emsculpt. Patients who are physically fit yet bothered by a focal area of stubborn adipose tissue tend to respond well to this therapy (which sculpts and builds muscle at the same time). Emsculpt (high intensity electromagnetic therapy) may result in greater projection of your buttocks (not to the same degree as a BBL...a subtle enhancement).

Unfortunately, liposuction of the banana rolls (back of thighs, under buttock crease) does not give good results.

It can cause gluteal fold support issues.

Smart Lipo of the flanks works well.

Smberg, Thank you for sharing your photos. I have had some good success with treating banana rolls with liposuction and skin tightening but not 100% success. I would say 75 % get considerably better to markedly better. However, 25% of the time there is little or no improvement. Banana rolls are tough to treat and there is no 100% effective treatment, but Smart Lipo and Lipo with Skin tightening can give you a good result. You are also a good candidate for flank Liposuction. Hi - we do those right in the office with bodytite. Bodytite combines liposuction with skin contraction and can do a very nice job of eliminating those undesired rolls. Lipo alone may not be what you want!

You are a very good candidate for Smart Lipo of outer thighs and banana which we do together. It will help shape the buttocks and tighten. No sagging. I would move forward without hesitation with an experienced surgeon.

Great posted photos. I recommend any type of liposuction, I DO NOT recommend SmartLipo - waste of time. But You might consider a SKINNY BBL surgery? Best to virtual consult with.

The banana role is a skin fold that happens in an upright standing position when the skin on the back of the thigh is pushed into the buttocks. As the hips flex the skin is put under tension and the contour improves and the fold goes away.
The banana role is not in anyway related to fat distribution and because of that it does not respond well to Liposuction.
Lots of plastic surgeons have tried and lots of plastic surgeons and failed leaving patients wishing they never considered having the procedure in the first place.
Don’t treat the banana roll.
The only procedure I’ve ever seen that can improve this area is conservative fat grafting in conjunction with a BBL.
Personally I would tell you that those who are enthusiastic about treating your banana roles are probably not the surgeons you should be choosing for your procedure.
If anybody recommends doing banana rolls they should be able to show you at least 20 sets of quality before and after pictures showing improvements using Liposuction for this area. Make absolutely sure that the people are standing in the same anatomic position in the before and after pictures.
Lots and lots and lots of people I’ll have a fold at the interface between the buttocks and back of the thigh when standing upright. You can see it for yourself by having someone else take a picture, try looking in the mirror or use the timer on your camera they are yeah changes contour when you flex your hips.
Everybody understands that they got a fold on their lower abdomen in a sitting position but it’s not as intuitive to recognize that the skin is actually being pushed together creating a skin fold while standing up. This is because when the hips flex the back of the thigh skin is tight and it is and the lax position when standing up straight.
You’re a great candidate for liposuction of your torso.
In regards to the torso I view the torso as a single anatomic unit and generally try to treat the entire tour so if I’m going to do liposuction on any part of it. There are obviously exceptions but for the most part treating the entire torso leaves people with an even natural thin fat distribution without transition zones between treated and untreated areas.
A full torso technically includes upper abdomen, lower abdomen, love handles all the way down to the hip dips, waist, fullback and under arm area all the way to the side of the breast.
Delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe and this includes most plastic surgeons. Most plastic surgeons are not as good as Liposuction as they think they are.
Mastering Liposuction requires years of experience and doing thousands of cases. It is not an easy procedure to do well consistently.
There’s more variation with liposuction results than any other plastic surgery procedure based purely on who does the procedure.
For that reason I recommend patients be very selective with who they allow to do liposuction on their body.
Simply choosing any board-certified plastic surgeon with an overall good reputation is insufficient to confirm that they have the proper skills to not create an undesirable outcome. Liposuction results are permanent and irreversible.
When done poorly people can be left disfigured.
To find the most talented provider I recommend having multiple in person consultations with plastic surgeons in your community. During each consultation ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures. Being shown a handful of sample pictures which most likely represent the best results of the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what the average results look like in the hands of each provider. This is why patients need to push providers to open up their portfolio and show as many before and after pictures as possible. ask the provider to show as many pictures as possible of patients with similar body characteristics to your own. You may also ask them to show you examples of excellent outcomes, average outcomes and less than outcomes. We all have them and I see nothing wrong with asking providers to show you a variety of different quality outcomes.
An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures of commonly perform procedures like liposuction of the torso. look carefully at all areas treated to make sure there are no skin contour irregularities anywhere on any of the pictures. review the results for the before and after pictures with the plastic surgeon asking them to point out what areas were treated and what areas were not treated. Then look very carefully a transition zones between treated and untreated areas. when reviewing what areas are included with the procedure you should be very clear and ideally anatomic diagrams should be included in the medical records so patients know exactly what areas will be treated and what areas will not be treated during surgery. you have the right to see before and after pictures for any area that’s going to be treated.
Finally I recommend reading all reviews on various physician review websites avoiding providers for any significant number of justified negative reviews.
The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and more telling than having an abundance of positive reviews.
Continue having consultations until you feel like you found a sufficiently talented provider to meet your needs.
I recommend avoiding virtual consultations whenever possible.
There’s no set number of consultations patients need to find the right provider but I recommend starting with a minimum of five consultations and it may require many more to find the right provider.
Ones done it is virtually impossible to correct poor Liposuction results.

you would be an excellent candidate for smartlipo because you have excellent skin tone and smartlipo is very precise. What is excellent about smartlipo is that it can be done in the office under local anesthetic. I almost always give an oral medication to make you more relaxed. You can definitely return to work the next monday, after showering. You do need to be patient since you will continue to improve for 6 months.

From your photos, I note the presence of bilateral banana rolls. Your buttocks are of moderate size, lacking a degree of lateral volume.
Banana roll liposuction is the primary treatment option if buttock exercises prove inadequate. Buttock augmentation with BBL may be considered as well. Non-surgical alternatives include the use of EMSculpt and/or Ultherapy treatments.
Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion.
