I have thin lips and a down turned mouth. I was thinking lip implants and corner lip lift, but I also need to lose at least 50 pounds. Should I wait until I've lost the weight to get lip implants? Corner lip lift?

Thank you for your question and a photo.You made a right decision about your lips -as they are quite thin and lack both volume and shape, the silicone implants are the good option for you. Weight loss or gain will not affect the implants so you may consider the procedure without taking into consideration your weight.

Hi, I have performed many lip augmentation procedures using dermal fillers or lip implants for over 30 years. From the photos, your lips are thin. Following the beauty principles outlined in my book on face and body beauty, the upper lip should be approximately 75 % the size of the lower lip for the lips to appear balanced. The lips can be augmented using a dermal filler or a Permalip implant at anytime and there is no need to wait until you loose weight (unless that is your wish). Weight changes will have no effect on the lip implants and the degree of lip augmentation that they provide.

Dermal filers and lip implants offer far more reliable volume to augment the lips than permanent fillers or fat injections that are also associated with increased, unwanted, side effects.
