Tall, narrow transwoman. Would 400cc Mentor moderate plus implants look good? (photos)

I am a tall narrow woman of transgender experience. I wear a 34A and am interested in becoming a 34C. I had a consultation and was told that my bwd is 15CM -which I don't believe is correct, I'm more like 13 from a little outside my rib cage to the outside of my sternum. I feel that I was improperly measured because the surgeon has 35 years experience and the measurements weren't meticulously done. I believe a 400CC Mentor moderate plus would look good. Thoughts?

Hi, A word of advice. When the nipple areolar is displaced laterally as is the case in your pics, the implant will not be fully centered behind the areolar as in a person AFAB. Its something to be aware of. A smaller implant placed more laterally, leaving a wider space between the breasts will make it appear more natural without garments on as it will be more centered behind the areolar. A Mentor moderate plus profile 400 cc silicone implant has a base width of 13cm which still may be on the high side for you but a simple proper measurement will confirm. Good luck.

Based on these photos and your narrow chest, frame, your cup size should be in the range of 130-150 ml.. This means that implants in the range of 300 ml. would do better if you want 2 cup sizes up. Good luck.

Hello!  Thank you for your question and photos.  The right size/style of implant is really a choice for the individual based on what their preferences are.  In my office, I allow my patients to try on a range of sizes to see which gives them the fullness they are looking for.  Style of implant can then be discussed to get the most desired shape.  I am not sure if you were able to try on implants at your consultation appointment, but that might be something to consider to make sure that the 400 cc Mentor moderate plus implant is going to be the right choice. Thanks for the question and nicely posted photos. But you are speaking about 2 cm? That is under 1 inch.... The issue is NOT if the measurements are perfectly correct but the final appearance. Or if 400 cc implants will "fit" into the pocket easily. In my over 40 years experience I use during surgery, after the pocket is dissected, sterile implant sizers. To see which volume looks better in the sitting position on the operating table. Then I remove the sizer & replace with the corrected volume whether it be 350, 375, 400 cc implants. Fees range from $5,000-$8,000. Best to virtual consult with....
