You need to lose weight first before undergoing any cosmetic procedure to get the best outcome. For best results, it is recommended to be at your ideal or stable weight before getting a sculpting liposuction procedure. Liposuction is for sculpting and defining and removing problem areas that cannot be removed with weight loss and diet / exercise alone. With skin laxity, a tummy tuck or lifting procedure could be performed at the same time. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a bariatric doctor or dietitian. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. I think you will be an excellent candidate for direct removal of excess pubic area tissue after pursuing a healthy diet and exercise regimen to reach a lower body weight. At 320 pounds the ratio of risk to benefit is too high to justify surgery and by lowering your body weight you will not only reduce these risks but also dramatically improve your cosmetic outcome.  Hope this helps.

Please take the advice of many experienced plastic surgeons (see below) and go have a consultation with a board certified bariatric surgeon. You need to loose about 100lbs before having any type of cosmetic body contouring surgery. The only way to reliably loose this much weight is to have a gastric sleeve, or bypass procedure performed (although i have had three patients loose this much weight on their own with strict diet and exercise). Trust me when i tell you that this step is crucial before having the cosmetic surgery that you are inquiring about. I am being tought about this, but only because I care that you get the best results, safety, and outcomes that you deserve. Good luck.  

I would first recommend that you lose some weight before getting liposuction not just to make the procedure more safe, but also because it will improve your results. It's always best to be at a maintainable goal weight before considering any cosmetic procedure. Then, yes, I think you'd be a great candidate for liposuction of the pubic area. Hello and thank you for your excellent question. You are a great candidate for liposuction of the area around the pubis. Many patients with excess weight gain have the same exact problem. Of course, you will need an in-person consultation to evaluate you for this procedure. Preoperative visualization and surgical simulation with the Crisalix system may help with your decision. Any treatment plan should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.    Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with.
