When it is reasonable to start getting post-op massages after BBL?

On which week post-op is it reasonable to start getting Radio Frequency and Ultrasonic Cavitation sessions? Also are lymphatic massages only for draining?

I do not recommend lymphatic massages as I have seen fluid collections and hematomas develop secondary to massages. Carefully orchestrate any massages with your plastic surgeon as post-operative protocols vary with plastic surgeons.

In my office, patients who only got lipo get massages 3 days after the surgery, this helps a lot with the swelling and patient leave the country with a beautiful shape. But anyway, every doctor has a a different post-op procotol. Keep that in mind.

Hello dear!!
Thanks for the question and provided information as well.
Each doctor has their own protocol. It is very important that you talk to him and follow his instructions.
I suggest my patients get at least 10 sessions of lymphatic massages and to use a full body compression garment, 24/7 for the first 3 months, and after that, for 12 hours a day for 3 more months, to get the best results.
It is important for the compression garment to be very tight, for it to help with the swelling, after surgery.
If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

Personally I do not recommend getting any massage after liposuction or the BBL procedure.

Each plastic surgeon will have their own unique postoperative instructions and you should follow those instructions. If you haven’t had a consultation yet then you should schedule several in person consultations with local board certified plastic surgeons in your area.

During the consultation the plastic surgeon should go over postoperative instructions.

t our center we provide postoperative massage and ultrasound treatments to the fat donor sites 1 week after surgery. We find these treatments to be  helpful in reducing swelling and patients seem to very much enjoy them.
