What to do with a nose that is too big for my face and bump on the bridge? (Photo)

Question

My nose is large for my face, and doesn't fit my face, especially on the side profiles my nose seems to purtrude past my lips and chin. The top of the bridge of my nose is super flat and than my nose seems to poke out like a triangle. The bone makes my nose look swollen on the side and doesn't match with the bridge of my nose. When I smile it points downward purtruding out, the tip of my nose is too big or too round and the bump on the bridge of my nose makes it look crooked or witch-like.

Thank you for your posting. I really think your nose is quite nice already, and noses project beyond the lips and chin in the ideal anatomy--so that is not at all a detracting feature. If you want to tweak things, I would suggest narrowing the tip a little bit and perhaps narrowing the nostrils somewhat. You could also build up the bridge a little. Hope that helps! Ethnic rhinoplasty surgery can address all the problems you are mentioning about you nose. During the surgery it is possible to build up the height of your nasal bridge making it appear less flat, and to better define your nasal tip by means of cartilage restructuring, thinning the skin, and narrowing your alar base. You need to get a consultation with a rhinoplasty surgeon experienced in ethnic rhinoplasty and go over your options.

I dont think your nose is too big for your face, not at all, what it really is, is too wide. In the side view the nose should always protrude past your lips and chin, this is normal, and is something that makes your faces looks more balanced. Now I completely agree with you that the top of the bridge is flat, I recommend the use of a temporal fascia graft to correct this. Also it needs to be corrected in wideness, Fracture of the nasal bones, and correction of the tip, and some other details to create a more feminine look.Find

The dorsal hump is composed of both bone and cartilage must be shaved down in order to remove it. Osteotomies of the nasal bones are required to narrow them. An alar plasty is required to narrow wide nostrils. Thick skin will be an impediment to seeing a very refined result in the tip of the nose.

You have a beautiful face.  If you want to refine your nose a rhinoplasty procedure would not be unreasonable.  The width can be adjusted and the tip can be refined to provide better overall facial harmony.  Because you lack tip structural support I would recommend using ear cartilage grafts.  This will support the tip and provide increased stability.  Be sure to consult with a surgeon Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery who has had a lot of experience with rhinoplasty.  Review his/her portfolio of results paying particular attention to patients of your ethnicity.
