What is the healing time for alar base reduction?

An alar base reduction can be performed under local. The sutures will stay in one week, and patients can return to light activities 3 - 7 days post procedure. It will take about a month to two months to fully heal, and to resume more strenuous activities.  Residual swelling may persist for several months. Your surgeon will understand the scope of the surgeon and specifics about you, and will be in the best position to guide you on the level of activity that you can do during your trip.

Usually for alar base excision, the sutures stay in place for around a week and there is only mild swelling. It is more similar to a mole removal than your initial or revision rhinoplasty. The incisions will be red for a few weeks after the sutures come out, but then the coloration should even out. If you have two weeks from the procedure, you should be healed well enough to go on a trip. Unless your trip involves strenuous exercise or a high risk to the recent incisions, I do not see why you wouldn't be able to go.
