Does lipoabdominoplasty have nice lasting results?

Question

I'm having lipoabdominoplasty lifting the mons and hip to hip scar. My bb will be the same and the only skin excised will be well below my bb. Lipo to the flanks and upper tummy.

Thanks for your question. It sounds like you are having a mini tummy tuck. If you are a good candidate and maintain an ideal weight, the results should last for years. I find very few women are truly best suited with a mini and most require a full. If that is the case, you likely won't be happy with the results. is one of the most comprehensive procedures for body contouring. You should certainly
see results and improvements following the surgery, especially in terms of
sagging and oddly placed fat deposits. However, although body contouring does
permanently remove excess skin and fat deposits, lipoabdominoplasty will not
prevent future weight gain. After you fully recover, it’s very important that
you keep an active fitness and health regimen to maintain your results, which
should be long-lasting so long as you stay on top of your ideal weight.

Thank you for the question. Yes, a well executed tummy tuck operation performed for the appropriate candidate, should be associated with a long-term and lasting outcome. Generally speaking, the “ideal” patient for tummy tuck surgery is one who has completed pregnancies, is psycho socially/emotionally/financially stable, has an excellent social support system surrounding him/her, is capable of arranging enough recovery time, does not smoke and who has reached a long-term stable weight.

Hi, there. I think the answer to your question depends on 1) whether you are a good candidate for mini-tummy tuck and 2) whether you can maintain your pre-surgical weight.  From your description, you seem to be considering mini-tummy tuck with liposuction.  Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is a very commonly performed procedure.  For most patients, full tummy tuck (rather than the mini-tummy tuck) will give a better abdominal contour.  However, there are some patients that can benefit from limited tummy tuck, or mini-tummy tuck.  With any procedure, maintain pre-surgical weight is very important in maintaining the long lastic result.  Please visit with a board-certified plastic surgeon to learn about your option.
