Is lower eyelid skin pinch the way to go for me? (Photos)

Thank you for your question.  In my experience, a trans-conjunctival approach is best for patients in their 20-30's who have only eyelid bags.  For older patients, there is usually some amount of aging of the skin and the deeper structures of the eyelids.  So in that case I suggest a sub-cillary approach, with a muscle suspension and possible canthopexy depending on if there is laxity of the lower lid.  This improves both the contour of the lid (bags), and also addresses lose skin and deeper muscle.  

Overall, I think you've had a very nice improvement in your eyelids. However, regarding your concerns, I see that things aren't perfect yet. You are only two and half months out from surgery, so more than likely you have persistent swelling in the lower lids. This swelling can make the skin bunch and wrinkle, especially with smiling. I would recommend that you wait a little longer. I have seen mild lower lid swelling take six months to completely resolve. Also, discuss your concerns with your surgeon. Also, the taping doesn't seem to do much good regarding the appearance of the eyelids. I'd recommend being patient. Give it more time.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Facial Rejuvenation Specialist
