I got jevederm voluma for the dark circles under my eyes yesterday and it immediately started bruising and I had ice on it basically all night and woke up to this..The the dr told me I would bruise a little but not bad and this is purple , puffy, and has my eye partially swollen shut ..The eye that isn't bad hurt when he was doing it but nothing serious but the 2nd eye which is the one with the problem hurt wayy worse and my husband said it looked like he did more on that eye/cheek

Get pulsed dye laser treatment to help improve the bruising faster and start vitamin C serum and/or light bleaching cream to this are to prevent permanent pigmentation.  The bruise should resolve in a few weeks otherwise.  In the future find a physician who injects with cannulas to limit complications.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question and photographs. I would consider this bruising a bit severe for Voluma.  Because Voluma is placed deeper into a patient's skin, bruising is typically minimal, compared to other fillers that are placed closer to the skin surface.  Because of the bruising and swelling, its difficult to know what your final results will ultimately be, but you can try to help the bruising and swelling with some cold compresses for the next 24 hours, followed by warm compresses thereafter to speed absorption.  Always be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon for your injections, it is important that an injector be familiar with the facial anatomy to avoid danger areas and possible complications.  If you are having any eye problems, namely with vision, be sure to inform your injector, and head to your local emergency department to have your eye evaluated.
