Thank you for your question,Loose clothing should be worn in order to preserve fat cells. Please consult your surgeon for specific post-op instructions.Regards,
While there is no contraindication to wearing a bikini, you will not be able to participate in many of the activities swimwear is typically associated with. It will be several weeks before you will be permitted to swim. Your incisions will be especially sensitive to sun exposure which eliminates sunbathing. You should also be wearing compression at all times as extensive liposuction is a significant component of a BBL. Finally, you will be swollen and bruised thus making it less likely you will fit into your swimsuit (at least initially) or wish to be seen at such an early healing stage. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
I realize that you are eager to see the results of your BBL, but remember that you should be wearing the compression garment 24/7 except for showering for the first six weeks. The size of your buttocks 3 days after surgery will not be a likely predictor of their size after all swelling and bruising disperses. And certainly, you do not want to go near a sauna, beach, pool, lake, or the like or sunbathe until all incisions have healed. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Thank you for your question. I have my patients wear a compression garment (faja) covering all treated 24/7 except to shower for 4 weeks post op and recommend them to avoid going to the beach or pool to avoid an infection. Best is to discuss specifically with your operating surgeon about your recovery process.
No, you should be wearing a compression garment to limit edema at least for the first 6 weeks after the procedure. And do not even think to expose your body to the sun while swollen, because you'll get stained permanently.
