Juvederm for forehead lines. Is it risky?

I do not recommend using Juvederm for forehead lines but if it is done, the doctor needs to be very conservative as it can swell more than expected and leave fullness that is unsightly. Hope that helps and best wishes, Dr. Donath 

Thank you for your question. Juvederm can be used to treat forehead wrinkles, especially to smooth out superficial lines. There are always some risks involved when making an injection into the skin, but these are rare and are greatly reduced when a skilled injector is performing the procedure.

For forehead lines, I often recommend the "relax and refill" technique. You first want to relax the muscle so that the pull on the skin is diminished leading to less wrinkling. Once the muscle is relaxed, any residual forehead wrinkling can be filled. I have used Belotero, Restylane Refyne, and Juvederm Volbella with great results in eliminating forehead wrinkles. It is difficult to answer your question without seeing you in person or at least through a good set of photographs. Fine lines usually do better with the use of Botox Heavier frown lines or horizontal lines of the forehead can be treated by both, Botox and Juvederm. Good luck from New York City
