Can the body reject butt implants?

Its important that you choose a board certified plastic surgeon for your buttock implant procedure.  The buttock implant procedure is a difficult procedure to master due to the many factors that contribute to a successful outcome.  Size of the implant is a large factor.  if the implant is too large the body may be unable to heal.  There can be too much tension on the incision and this may prevent the incision from closing and healing. This may leave your implant exposed to infection causing bacteria and ultimately result in removal of the implant.  If the procedure is done correctly and tastefully by an experience board certified plastic surgeon that understands proper aftercare, your procedure should be successful with little to no complications.

It is very difficult to determine the exact size and shape implant you will require to best match your ideal butt image without an examination by a board certified plastic surgeon. Not just any board certified plastic surgeon, but one with many years of frequently performing breast augmentation surgery including different approaches, techniques and implant choices. This is because several measurements not to mention your breast characteristics are needed to determine the optimal implant size to obtain your goals. Without knowing these dimensions it would be difficult to make this determination. For example, the existing base width of your buttock will determine, in many cases, the maximal volume per implant profile that you can accommodate. Liposuction of your lower back and fat transfer is also helpful as an adjunct to implants. Using “want to be” photos however are useful if simply provided to the surgeon.

Buttock Implants are made of silicone rubber. Silicone rubber is inert, no proven immune reaction has been documented. This is different for silicone gel, where a foreign  body reaction occurs with granuloma formation.Buttock implants can get infected but that is different immune rejection.
