I have hanging Lipomas under both arms. They break out underneath and get yeast infections. I cannot lower my arms all the way. I have been told that I need to learn to live with it by two surgeons. They would not even contact my insurance co. Is this because of the location ? They are rather large, about 4" wide. Sorry, I don't know how to add a picture.
Answer: Lipomas on the armpits and preaxilla Preaxillary fat may represent breast tissue in women. I would reexamine the area to see if these are indeed lipomas. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian#Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Underarm hanging lipomas. Insurance? Thank you for sharing your question. Unfortunately without a series of photographs it is difficult to offer definite advice as you may have lipomas but they may also be accessory breast tissue or excess adipose. I would see an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon in consultation to obtain a firm diagnosis from which an appropriate treatment recommendation can be made. Hope this helps.

Answer: Armpit masses I am sorry you are having such problems and am shocked you have not found a doctor to help you. I am not sure whether or not these armpit masses are lipomas (fatty tumors), extra (ectopic) breast tissue, excess adipose tissue (fat), enlarged lymph nodes or sebacious cysts which can all occur in the armpit, but a surgeon should be able to remove them and be reimbursed by insurance especially since they are causing you such discomfort. Keep looking for a doctor willing and able to help you. Good luck and take care.

Answer: Lipoma Coverage Yes, underarm hanging lipomas are covered by insurance, as that area contains breast tissue within which could be cancerous. It is important to keep a close eye if any abnormalities show up in this area, and it should be evaluated by a doctor to determine if it requires further medical attention and treatment.
