I'm a 30yr old asian female, and have spider veins in my face, very very fine thin blood vessels throughout my face. I had several sessions of laser, and it started going away, however started getting a LOT of dark areas (hyper pigmentation), so I stopped temporarily... What type of laser, or what procedure should I have for this vessels, WITHOUT getting hyper pigmentation, please help! thank you!

Lasers with shorter wavelengths are more likely to cause lightening of the skin followed by darkening, because of absorption by the pigment (melanin) in the skin. This is even more likely to happen if you have a tan at the time of your treatment. For darker skin types, laser treatment with the longer wavelength of 1064 nm is safer because it is not absorbed as much by the pigment in your skin. Cooling the skin well, immediately before the laser pulse reaches your skin and also immediately after, is also important in sparing the surface of the skin where darkening occurs. The Gemini or Excel V lasers ( and other brands, too)  emit a 1064 nm laser beam for treatment of the veins. Attention to detail is important. I recommend having your treatment by a board-certified dermatologist with lots of experience in laser treatment of facial veins. The dark spots that you have developed will probably fade with skin lightening creams - ask your doctor for advice and a prescription.
