Brown flecks floating around in saline breast implant, what could it be?

I had my saline smooth implants removed and got them back after the surgery. In one implant, there are brown flecks and brown small solid floaters in the saline, all floating around. Implant does not appear to have leaked, but is less buoyant than the other implant. What could this be?

If particulate matter is noted within a breast implant, determination of the source is difficult and requires sophisticated instruments. It may just reflect the antimicrobial solution and there are some surgeons who flush and iodine solution into the implant prior to placement. There are a number of other possible causes. Discuss with your surgeon his or her technique and their thoughts on the matter.

Determining
the source of any particulate matter within the breast implant saline solution
would be difficult.  It is possible that it is part of the antimicrobial
solution that was utilized during your surgery.  I would discuss it with a
board-certified plastic surgeon.  Best of luck!
