Thank you for sharing your excellent question. As opposed to the hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that can be dissolved away with hyaluronidase, Sculptra does not have a similar "antidote." Only time will eventually reverse it. That said depending on any complications, such as granuloma formation, there may be other options for treatment. Hope this helps.
Thanks for this question. There is no medication which can dissolve the PLLA. With time, your body can naturally dissolve it. However, you should have a formal evaluation with an experienced since you say you had a high amount injected and could be having granulomas - which can be treated.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO :)
There is no reversing agent for Sculptra, or poly-L-lactic acid. This medication produces collagen stimulation upon injection, and works gradually to add volume to treated areas. Are you experiencing lumps, nodules, or painful areas? Please consult with a Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist to discuss your concerns and undergo a thorough exam. Depending on your physical exam findings, you may do well to meet with a Breast Surgeon and undergo imaging. Good luck!
Thank you for your question. I'm sorry to hear that you're unhappy with the results of your Sculptra/PLLA injections. While I love to use Sculptra to stimulate collagen production in the skin, one of it's drawbacks is that there is no way to reliably reverse it's effects once it has been injected. If you have individual lumps or nodules that you are noticing, these can sometimes be treated with injections of steroids +/- 5-fluorouracil, however there is no way to completely remove all of the Sculptra that has been injected into an area. Please follow-up with a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns. Best of luck.
Hello, this is a common complication after Sculptra and typically self-resolve. The lump usually does not increase in size and forcefully massaging it may cause unnecessary irritation. However, it may be worthwhile to express your concern to your physician if the lump is persistent. Chase Lay
Sculptra is a filler that works by stimulating your own fibroblasts to produce collagen in the treated areas. The result is subtle volume correction that is produced by your own body. 1 vial of Sculptra is usually split between the temples, however some physicians use 2 vials at one...
BBL is a great option for a surgical approach to a buttox enhancement, and Sculptra is a great nonsurgical approach. To find the specialists near you, I believe that you can search directly on Sculptra’s website to find a directory of offices that carry the product. However, I would be mindful t...
