I have a white line across my eye, told it's from my cataracts. Opinion?

Cataracts usually cause glare or blurring of vision. They come on gradually unless traumatic. They do not in my experience cause a line over vision. Also, if this problem came on immediately then it is unlikely due to a cataract. Was the laser treatment a peripheral iridotomy (PI) or SLT laser? PI can lead to visual phenomena after treatment and this can be treated.

It's difficult to help in this situation. Please resubmit with a picture so we are all on the same page about the white line you see.Cataract surgery is an elective surgery. It's a "want to"- not "have to" surgery the overwhelming majority of the time. Cataracts are usually a gradual yellowing of the natural lens. When it gets yellow or cloudy enough that you have trouble doing your daily activities and glasses no longer help, then that's a good time to consider surgery.
