3 months post op cataract surgery, eyes are still tender and puffy. Eyes get swollen when I bend my head. What is the cause?

Thank you for sharing your question. The is no correlation between cataract surgery and swollen eyelids. It is most likely allergies, but eyelids often swell up for no apparent reason. If you are concerned, have a consultation with an oculoplastic surgeon. I hope this helps.

If itching isn't the main problem then allergies is not likely the cause.Conjunctivochalasis, dry eye or lingering post operative inflammation are possible causes. A visit with the surgeon is probably the best thing. If he/she isn't available get the opinion of another board certified ophthalmologists.If the problem is mainly the eyelids and not the eyeball then check out the video below.
