Protecting the surface of the eye is the priority as if the ocular surface dries, it can become damaged and compromise vision. If your surgeon was an Oculoplastic/Ophthalmic specialist then they should be able to advise about this, other wise it would be worth consulting one regarding the ocular surface.&nbsp;Lubricants would be worth taking and perhaps try&nbsp;taping the eyelids shut at night to protect the eyes.&nbsp;The eyelid surgery looks to have been done recently given the bruising. Further treatment depends on the ocular surface in the short term rather than the cosmesis. Best of luck!&nbsp;Neil

It has now been a full month since my Blep surgery. I have included before and after pictures and seek your professional opinion. My incisions are too high, I cannot close my eyes completely, when forced closed skin under eyes wrinkle and lift. I have very little lid left if any and eyes keep watering and are very tight.

The recovery time is around a week to return to normal activities and around 2 for most bruising to settle. You do have excess upper eyelid skin and would be a good candidate for blepharoplasty. Prices vary considerably but you need to be happy with whoever you choose and certainly being local is important as aftercare is an important part of surgery.

I have been having botox for years but have quite arched brows and botox is now making this worse. I would like to reduce the excess skin and prominent fat pads on my brow bone and either avoid arching my brows any further or reduce the arch. I live near Manchester and would prefer to stay local. I would like to know the average recovery time (ie to be able to return to work with minimal bruising) and very roughly what I would expect to pay

I am sorry for the trouble you are having. It would be very unlikely to be bruising this long after the operation. Swelling is possible if it fluctuates and changes with time of day. More likely is that there is excess fat in this area, perhaps excess tissue moved during fat draping. Photos would be useful but most importantly, you need so see your surgeon to review this as it can be fixed.

Six and a half months after my lower blepharoplasty, I still have small swollen pockets of fluid/bruising that are obvious. They are about the size of a quarter. Surgery was February 28, today is September 14. What can be done to make them go away? I used arnicare gel for a couple of months after the surgery. Do these pockets of fluid need to be aspirated?

Thank you for your question. By 2 weeks you would certainly have reached the peak effect of your Botox treatment and any complications would have become apparent.&nbsp;
I hope you had the desired effect and for the future, it is useful to keep a log of the dose and&nbsp;effect to help tailor future treatments.

I'm on day 15 after injection of botox to my 11's. I was wondering, if I was going to get a droopy eye lid, would it have happened by now or can it still happen over the next few weeks?

Usually, patients see the results of Botox within 3-5 days. A similar product, Dysport typically works 1-2 days earlier. The full effect is seen within 2 weeks.
There is no limit to how long one can keep having it - the medical evidence goes back 20 years. It does wear off over 3-4 months and the exact duration for repeat injection can be varied depending on how much function you are happy to see return.

How long after receiving <a href='/reviews/botox'>Botox</a> do you see the full benefit? Also, how many times can one receive this? I know it is every 4 months, but is there a limit to how long one can keep getting botox?

How Long Before Botox Results Can Be Seen?

There is possibly&nbsp;a very subtle ptosis but the greatest difference between the two is the left tarsal show being greater than the right.&nbsp;
A dynamic examination (rather than a static photograph) would be useful as I suspect you have slight right frontalis muscle overaction and raised brow due to increase skin on the right upper lid - causing reduced tarsal show and hence asymmetry.
It would be most useful to see an Oculoplastic surgeon and discuss ptosis surgery or blepharoplasty after a dynamic examination in person.

My left eyelid is sagging and the under eye and eyebrow looks asymmetrical as well. Thank you!

With lubrication it is important to do this regularly. The thicker the preparation, the longer it will last. So at the thinner end, you have hypromellose, systane etc. You can buy a gel (eg clinics), which is intermediate and a paraffin based ointment&nbsp;(eg lacrilube, simple eye ointment) which is thickest. The thicker ones blur the vision the most so it is a balance between lubrication and blurry vision. Ideally in the day you want a thin drop used regularly - at least 6 times a day. If the eye is red then do get assessed by an Ophthalmologist.

I had Botox in my crows feet for the first time. I know that there is nothing I can do to get rid of it other than let it wear off, but i feel too much has been potentially been put in that area, it is sore when I blink &amp; kind of feels like I’m blinking upwards instead of the eye blinking downwards, so tugging on the under eye skin. Is there anything I can do to maybe just ease how itchy it is making my eyes?

Thank you for your question.&nbsp;The lateral angle of the eye itself (not the brow) is fixed to the orbital rim (the bony part of the&nbsp;eye socket), which means that botox or fillers will not move it. There are gentle local anaesthetic surgical options such as a transcanthal canthopexy which can give you the result you want but unfortunately not without surgery and canthal tendon repositioning.

Im aware theres such thing as a chemical brow lift that lifts the brow, but im wondering if theres a procedure similar that will give me the results im wanting for my eyes. If you just slightly pull at the corner of my eyes, thats the look im wanting (without surgery). my eyes aren't droopy, I just want to elongate them and raise the end every so slightly for more of a cat eye look. is this possible?

Thank you for the photo - I can see a marked asymmetry which must be quite troubling for you. This is indeed an infrequent event after cataract surgery however it is important to see a specialist to rule out other sinister causes such as myasthenia gravis,&nbsp;a third cranial nerve palsy or a Horner's syndrome.
Ideally see an oculoplastic specialist who can then talk you through the surgical options as well if there is nothing otherwise underlying.

I am a 69-year old female. Last December I had cataract removal on my right eye (left eye was done in September). Since the second surgery, I have noticed a definite and progressively worsening drooping of the right eyelid. This drooping became noticeable within a week after the surgery. It is very noticeable and has begun to interfere with my vision. Is this a common occurrence? Repairable? Any input would be appreciated.

Cataracts usually cause glare or blurring of vision. They come on gradually unless traumatic. They do not in my experience cause a line over vision. Also, if this problem came on immediately then it is unlikely due to a cataract. Was the laser treatment a peripheral iridotomy&nbsp;(PI) or SLT laser? PI can lead to visual phenomena after treatment and this can be treated.

have glaucoma and had laser surgery to reduce pressure in both eyes after surgery I have line across my left eye now I have cataracts in both eyes but they been there for more than 10 years and I been told they were not enlarging so no need to do surgery yet, but know since I ask about this line they say it from my cataracts , I do not want any more surgery until I make sure what happen

I have a white line across my eye, told it's from my cataracts. Opinion?
