So, I just, had my Breast implant done a week ago. One of my nipple is pointing up and the other one is pointing down. My surgeon told me that, in times my implants will drop and my nipples will come together, my question is what if my implants drop and my nipples still pointing weird, will he replace them or take my implants out at no cost??
Answer: One of my nipple is pointing up and the other one is pointing down!! I also cannot say anything for sure without seeing a photograph; however, In general, with my patients I recommend to them to not worry about these things at one week out from surgery. There is still swelling that needs to subside. Breast implants are usually in a higher position than they will ultimately be at (if they were placed under the muscle), and it takes time for them to "settle". Implants "fall' at different rate. Sometimes it can take 6-8 weeks. Usually, breast augmentation is really not involved in changing your nipple position unless you had some type of incision around the nipple. I get this question quite a bit and always explain to my patients that I am not changing their nipple positions unless we do a mastopexy (breast lift), and in time its fine. Usually the nipples end up very similar to where they were before surgery once the implant has settled. This is something that is important for you to discuss with your plastic surgeon. I hope this helps!

Answer: One week is no time to panic because of asymmetric areola after breast augmentation. If your breasts were symmetrical prior to the breast augmentation they will end up that way when healing process is complete. Most surgeons discuss their policy for revisions, which all plastic surgeons face now and then, prior to the original procedure.

Answer: One of my nipple is pointing up and the other one is pointing down!! Any suggestions? You are very early in the post operative phase so I would not judge your final outcome by what you see now. You will see the most change over the first 6 weeks after surgery as the implants settle in place but ideally you need to give yourself 3-6 months to see the results.RegardsDr Guy Watts

Answer: Too early! Be patient... Hello kycaldwell,After just one week, it is too early to say that your current result is permanent. Most likely, your breast result will change over the next few months and usually they begin to look more and more natural as healing progresses. In addition, it is possible that your nipple and breast structure was already this way before surgery and you should look over your before photos with your surgeon and have him/her address your concerns. Every surgeon has a different policy about revisions and costs. But again, it's way too early to even think about a revision after 1 week! Don't look at your breasts more than twice a week from now on so you do not become obsessed by these issues. Best wishes, Dr. Aldo.

Answer: Nipple asymmetry after breast augmentation Without photographs, it is impossible to tell you more about your situation. It is common for your breasts to recover at different rates. Normally Time will solve many of these issues. However, most doctors will want to see their patients have the best possible result. Every surgeon has their own specific routine on revisions.Continue to follow up with your surgeon to ensure that you progress as planned. Best of luck!
