Answer: Are 1000 mL breast implants too large? The job of the plastic surgeon is to make you happy with your choice of breast implant size. 1000 mL implants are quite large and would need to be custom-made. Nevertheless there are sizing systems that will give you an idea of what to expect with this type of implant.

Answer: What if I would like a 1000cc breast implants is that possible? I am big and I have lost 100 lb and plan on losing another hundr Congratulations on your weight loss thus far; you should be proud of this accomplishment. You are wise in achieving a long-term stable weight prior to proceeding with breast surgery. Unfortunately, online consultants will not be able to provide you with specific enough advice regarding the indicated breast operation and/or specific breast implant size/profile) to be truly helpful. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery (regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. In bra sizers can be useful communication tools also. For example, I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup" or "larger breasts" etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. The use of computer imaging may be very helpful during the communication process. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery ( after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers). I hope this, and the attached link (dedicated to larger breast augmentation surgery concerns), helps. Best wishes.

Answer: 1000 cc bad idea? Hello candy cane. If you are a weight loss patient, I would not feel good about recommending 1000 cc breast implants. Such large implants may not be possible to place in one surgery and with weight loss, lots of patients require a breast lift, in addition. 1000 cc may also lead to early sagging, poor shape and tissue loss. Talk to a local PS about your options. Best wishes, Dr. Aldo.

Answer: Not sure about Canada Don't know about implant ranges available in Canada, but in the United States the biggest implant we can use per the FDA is 800cc. That being said, we normally only use implants that size for reconstruction where someone has no breast tissue at all. For augmentation, normal sizes used are around 275-450cc, with implants bigger than that sometimes used in rare instances. If you're hoping that an implant that is 1000cc would be big enough to avoid have a lift procedure done, then you are likely to be disappointed. With extreme weight loss, a breast lift is pretty much always required to get a good result.Hope this helps. Congrats on your weight loss. That is outstanding!B Hermann, MD
