Answer: BBL Soreness It is possible to still have some soreness at 12 weeks post surgery. Normally at around 3 months more of the sensory nerves have healed and you can tend to feel more soreness, tingling, etc. as this occurs. This should improve. However, I would suggest that your follow up with your surgeon or see a board certified plastic surgeon for a full evaluation to assure all is healing as expected. Good Luck!

Answer: Soreness eight weeks after BBL would you describe is not normal but does happen from time to time. The last patient on real self were described a similar set of symptoms had three BBL's done as well as having implants put in and take it out. In her case I believe the discomfort was due to excessive grafting putting pressure on tissues that was not normal. Usually long-term pain is highly unlikely. If the pain continues more than six months consider getting a radiologic work up such as a CT scan or MRI. Continue follow up with your plastic surgeon. Try using ibuprofen at the lowest effective dose. You could also ask your doctor for a prescription for gabapentin. If you do take gabapentin especially in high doses it needs to be tapered gradually when you stop using it. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
