Thank you for your question regarding post-operative garment. The type of compression you need depends on which procedures you are having. Your plastic surgeon will take measurements and fit you for the appropriate post-op compression garment. I prefer the Marena brand, but your surgeon may have a different preference. Hope this helps!
The best garment all depends on what is performed during your mommy makeover. Your surgeon will let you know which garment(s) to wear. Typically, some kind of compression garment is recommended in the event a tummy tuck or liposuction is performed.
A mommy makeover consists of an abdominoplasty, usually with liposuction, and a breast enlargement or lift. I measure patients prior to surgery, and provide compression garments at the time of surgery. An abdominal binder, or compression garment is required. Depending on what is done to your breasts, either a sports bra or vest should be worn. Your surgeon should help you find the correct garments.
I know that the garments I use on patients in post-op healing will depend on the different procedures that are completed and the incisions that are used. If you have any concerns about the type of garment that your surgeon will be using, don't hesitate to contact him directly prior to surgery in order to make sure that you are comfortable with the way things will proceed. Good luck
Thank you for your question. I would recommend reaching out to your surgeon's office to discuss the appropriate garment for you based on your anticipated mommy makeover procedures.

Your surgeon will advise the appropriate type of compression needed for your surgery. There are many companies that are available. The key to proper compression is the fit. Each plastic surgeon has a preferred garment that they use. I provide the garments to my patients and the garment would be a compression garment for the areas addressed in your particular Mommy Makeover. Ask your plastic surgeon about their preferred garments.
Each PS has a preference and I usually provide the garments to my patients. Usually consists of a compression garment for the tummy and a sports like bra for the breasts. Speak to your PS about them.
The answer to this question depends upon which of the mommy makeover procedures you are receiving, If you are receiving a tummy tuck, breast surgery, and multiple areas of liposuction, the garment utilized would need to provide compression on the tummy and all areas of liposuction. I prefer to not place significant compression on the breasts after surgery, but rather a specific type of bra instead. There are a number of very good compression garment brands and styles available. Your surgeon or the nurse should guide you thru this process and usually provide this for you.
The best thing you can do is speak with your plastic surgeon and explain your situation. He/She may have the name of a surgeon close to your location who can help you out. Be sure to have output information available when you call, as that will be needed.
Combining procedures is common and considered safe, but there is a limit. Typically it's recommended that elective plastic surgery no exceed six hours of surgical time. An evaluation is needed to know for sure, but generally an extended tummy tuck and breast lift can safely be performed in one...
In my opinion, it is possible that you can have a mommy makeover with ITP if you platelet count stay at least above 50,000. Some surgeons would prefer a higher platelet count. I would recommend that you speak to your hematologist about the safety of a mommy makeover with your ITP. A...
