New mole on bikini line. Is this normal? (Photo)

Question

I noticed a mole on my bikini line while shaving. I have fair skin but only have a few freckles. This is the only one that is raised. I apologize for the pictures as it’s hard to get one in that spot but I wasn’t sure if it’s normal to get a random mole down there when I don’t have any raised anywhere else. Does that seem or look suspicious?

Mole removal begins with a comprehensive examination and consultation to determine the likelihood of a mole being worrisome. 
Excisional
 and incisional biopsies are reserved for suspicious moles. But its good
 news that most moles are not problematic and are only cosmetic, thus 
leading to the option of scarless or non-surgical mole removal with 
lasers and RF and plasma.

Good for you taking photos of that mole!! May I suggest that future photos include your finger or a measuring tape close to the mole, so one can better assess the rate of growth?
From the photos, it appears to be growing....and is elevated and pigmented.  You should seek the attention of a Dermatologist as soon as possible.  It may need to be excised and sent to pathology for definitive diagnosis.

I would definitely get this looked at by a board certified dermatologist.  We really can't say from a photo whether or not a lesion is problematic or not.  It would be bad practice to say "don't worry about it" just from a photo.  Your dermatologist will probably do a skin exam as well as looking at this particular lesion and they will be able to help guide you on whether or not to have this lesion biopsied. Thank you for your question and photographs.It's difficult to evaluate your skin through this type of forum. An in-person examination needs to be done to evaluate and assess what type of lesion you have. A dermatologist will be able to look at the lesion under higher magnification utilizing an instrument called a dermatoscope to determine if there are any irregularities. I highly recommend you consult with a board certified dermatologist to have your skin evaluated and to discuss treatment options that best suit your needs. Take care and good luck.
