Mole removal begins with a comprehensive examination and consultation to determine the likelihood of a mole being worrisome. Excisional and incisional biopsies are reserved for suspicious moles. But its good news that most moles are not problematic and are only cosmetic, thus leading to the option of scarless or non-surgical mole removal with lasers and RF and plasma. Our office specializes in non-surgical mole removal. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
Thanks for your question. I would not recommend getting your hair cut or washed vigorously the day of a mole removal on the scalp. Your dermatologist might cauterize the area with an small instrument called a hyfercator to reduce the risk of bleeding, and if a hairdresser disturbs the cauterized area, you might have a lot of bleeding. Follow your dermatologist's wound care instructions, and they will probably recommend waiting about a week before getting your hair cut. If you are really needing a haircut, maybe do it before the mole removal so you won't need to disturb the scar. Good luck!
Thank you for your question. If the haircut is before the procedure, you will be fine. However, if the haircut is after the the procedure then I would hesitate. I highly recommend you consult with the provider performing the procedure on when to get your haircut. Take care and good luck.
