Im 5 2 175 lbs and am trying to get back to my usual self 125-130.need to lose 50lbs.im scheduled for lipo this week but since lipo isnt for weight loss is it a good idea to also get the intergastric balloon for the weight loss or what are some suggestions?
Answer: Liposuction and Gastric Balloon Exciting that you are on this journey ! As you stated liposuction is not a weight loss procedure. For our patients, we recommend participating in one of our weight loss programs with medications, balloons or endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty depending on the amount of weight and health issues that are present. Once goal weight and health are achieved, we have patients remain at that place for 6 months and then move forward with the fun stuff like liposuction ! Gastric balloons are very helpful at jumpstarting a health journey and patients usually lose 30-50 pounds in the 6-8 months that the balloon is in place.

Answer: Gastric sleeve in better option If your priority is to lose 50 pounds, it is more likely that you will achieve it with a gastric sleeve, since with the balloon on average you would lose between 20 to 30 pounds, according to your MBI, which is 32.A medical evaluation with a certified bariatric surgeon who has a multidisciplinary team (nutrition and psychology) is important.

Answer: Im scheduled for lipo, and want to lose weight. Is it a good idea to also get the intragastric balloon? Hello, hope you are well. Based on your height and weight your calculated BMI would be 32, which classifies you as Obese type I. This means you definitely qualify for a weight loss procedure, like a gastric balloon or even a gastric sleeve. In order to determine this you would need to be evaluated by a certified bariatric surgeon, and in addition take into account an appropiate healing period following your liposuction. Hope this answer was helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact us if anything else arises.

Answer: Yes, loose the weight first I recommend to drop the weight first. You can have the Gastric Spatz3 Balloon placed which will give you up to a year of weight loss. I've done thousands of these balloons and the results have been amazing. Once your body reaches your ideal weight, then i recommend to at that point look at cosmetic options as your body will have changed by then.
