Is Restylane or Juvederm safe if I have metal facial implants?

It is very important you go to someone with expertise for this.  The implant is on the bone and the filler should be injected above it to ensure it doesnt cause any biofilm or irritation around the filler.  I suggest only a reversible filler at first.  See someone who uses cannulas for injections and it is much safer with less side effects.  Best, Dr. Emer.

There should be no major issue in injecting fillers such as restylane or juvederm even if you have a metal facial implant. Most importantly, make sure your physician is highly trained and experienced such as a dermatologist. Tear troughs can be safely and nicely treated, although they are more prone to bruising and swelling.

There is a theoretical risk of infecting the implants when inserting a needle in the area. using these products in the tear troughs is an off label use; nonetheless, many patients have been treated successfully. Have your face evaluated by a board certified facial plastic surgeon and be sure to share your medical history.
