Can cooking soon after liposuction swell you? If so how long should I stay away from heat/cooking?

The reason for my question is, I was told that I should stay away from cooking for a few weeks because the liquid that is pumped into a patient during lipo surgery cause swelling with heat. Is that true?

No, this isn't true. It is true that you will have swelling after liposuction which can last 3-6 months. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling.  I also recommend adding coolsculpting/vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin's appearance. An interesting question. The only way you will swell with cooking is to eat what you cooked. Stay away from salty foods for a few weeks.

Thank you for your question. The swelling is because your body reaction to the surgery and varies from person to person. We recommend to limit the activity initially and use garments and follow instructions from your PS. I am not aware of cooking cause directly swelling after Lipo.

We get some really great questions on this site. It's a good thing you are smart enough to ask a doctor medical questions and not rely on your "friends". The answer is no, cooking and heat will not "swell" the fluid. First of all fluid cannot enlarge significantly in volume, secondly you are putting fluids into your body all day every day anyway and they don't change when you cook. Who in the world came up with such an hilarious idea?
