My derm just did my 2nd VBeam. I've had PDLs in the past not the VBeam Perfecta brand. Another dr - a PS - suggested I would benefit from inserting an IPL a few wks after each VBeam. I have bad flushing and redness and burning. The flushing is now benefitting to some degree with clonidine. I've read that some rosacea patients have done this combo therapy. Since PDL in the past has not stopped the progression of my rosacea, do you think cycling VBeam with IPL would be a good treatment approach?
Answer: Both of these treatments combined can be great for treating rosacea Vbeam laser is an excellent modality for patients who have rosacea, blushing of the skin, facial and body telangiectasia, spider veins, redness, post surgical redness, and skin flushing. It is a safe procedure that can be used at varying depths to help treat micro blood vessels in the skin. We also use it in our office for facial skin inflammation, keloids, and hypertrophic scarring. It is an important part of scar therapy. Vbeam can be combined with chemical peels and other lasers, but experience with the treatment is essential. The Vbeam laser does not affect deeper tissue. Schedule a consultation with an expert in Vbeam and you will find it to be an excellent modality for many skin types. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Alternating IPL with V Beam Yes alterating Rx is not a bad idea. Rosacea is a chronic condition that needs ongoing treatment to maintain control and best appearance. The V Beam and many other lntense pulse light laser (IPL) devices are also beneficial and the recovery time is fast. You will need to pretreat and post treat your skin with a retinol, lightening agent and sunscreen to minimize your chance for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)#Rosacea#BBLlaser#PIH

Answer: Combining Vbeam and IPL for Rosacea Vbeam is an excellent technology for the more visible veins. Bear in mind that it is only a series of treatments that provide the best result and because Rosacea will repeatedly dilate the small vessels in your skin, it's likely you are looking at more of a management situation instead of a "fix" that you don't need to repeat.Interspersing IPL is certainly acceptable. The IPL will help with the diffuse dilated capillaries and also help eliminate any small amount of pigmentation. You are likely well aware of your Rosacea triggers when it comes to activity and diet. Keeping a diary of what causes flushing episodes is a good reminder and reinforces your decisions not to eat certain foods or drink alcohol.

Answer: Using Vbeam and IPL in the treatment of Rosacea. The combination of these two technologies is excellent! Where the Vbeam and the IPL use different wavelengths- they will do a great job in targeting all of the concerns due to rosacea. IPL can be a great first step in the process and the Vbeam can help to clean up whatever may be left behind. We frequently use the same approach in treating facial redness and rosacea.

Answer: Would alternating VBeam and IPL for vascular rosacea be a good approach? Alternating IPLs with VBeam treatments may be a good treatment approach since you are still experiencing severe flushing. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) can improve small dilated veins, rosacea, skin texture, uneven pigmentation, and other blemishes. A few weeks after an IPL session, you can schedule a VBeam treatment to help improve any stubborn dilated vessels on the face since it is still the gold standard for treatment of vascular spots. Hope this helps!
