I had .2cc of filler injected in my 11’s about 9 months ago. The area immediately turned red. It is itchy and sometimes painful still. I did find one specialist doctor willing to dissolve it thinking it could be a partially blocked artery, as one kind doctor on here suggested. My question, is it safe to dissolve filler in this area? I would not want to end up with a big dent in my glabella area as my 11s are bad enough. Thank you so much!

Answer: Safely dissolving filler There seems to be a great deal of discussion about the potential adverse effect of hyaluronidase on normal facial anatomy when used to dissolve hyaluronic acid filler injected into the face. I cannot say that I have seen these adverse effects to any great degree and quite frankly, for dissolving hyaluronic acid filler, there is no substitute. Having said that, your filler is absolutely not blocking an artery. You may be having a delayed inflammatory reaction to the filler and dissolving the filler is one approach though after nine months there probably is not a lot left if you had hyaluronic acid. You may require oral steroids or injection of steroids if a granuloma has formed. Best of luck.
