Filler and sinus infection pressure and migraines? Could this filler have exasperated my cold to a full blown sinus infection?

I got tear trough filler and upper cheek filler 2ml total two weeks ago. I went in with a minor cold and now two weeks later have debilitating migraines and sinus pressure. I am on ammoxicillin for 5 days now with no change and just started 40mg of prednisone and 10 hours later is minor change. Not too sure. Could this filler have exasperated my cold to a full blown sinus infection? I’ve only had two now in my life and the other time I had also just received filler. What can I do to feel better?

Hello - obviously you are likely way past having these symptoms at this point, but in case anyone else searches the site with similar questions, here is an answer. Filler in the tear trough would be very unlikely to contribute to a sinus infection. The sinus cavity is below the bone and the filler/needle can not penetrate the bone to cause any type of reaction. Headaches can be the result of a broad range of contributors, so it would be more difficult to consider that. Other than to say that sinus infections can certainly be the cause of headaches.

It is unlikely that the tear tough filler exacerbated your cold leading to a sinus infection.  The sinuses are much deeper to the area where the filler is injected.   You are doing the appropriate action by contacting your primary care provider and taking medications as prescribed.
