Thanks for your question. So to clarify some misinformation, a 1064nm laser does not specifically target fat. SculpSure works because surface cooling keeps the deeper dermis from being injured and the 3cm depth of penetration typically would only hit fat. On skin with less than 2-3cm of fat (like a thin neck), for safety, we do not use it. Also, If SculpSure didn't have built-in cooling cycles, the heat could slowly spread beyond 3cm and could damage underlying tissues. Fortunately, between the built-in cooling cycles and us asking patients about their discomfort, I don't believe injuries to organs have ever been reported :)
