I have uneven nostrils and a bump on my right inside nostril. I had a septoplasty 3 years ago. Is this normal? (photo)

Question

You can see the front inside edge is uneven and the bump behind it. The bump goes from the front tip of my nose to the mid portion. It's probably a 1/4 of an inch long and about an 1/8 wide. I can push the bump in on the right side of my nostril but then it bounces back to its original position. I have been to three different ent doctors and they don't know. Please help everyone I talk to notices it immediately! Respectfully, Just want it fixed patient :)

There is a left and right cartilage that go in front of your nose on the left and right sides to help support the septum. What bothers you is the right medial crura being pushed by the septum to the right. It should be easily repaired by removing a small amount of soft tissue from between these medial crura and suturing them together. The bilateral medial crura will heal together and give you more symmetric nostrils. I do this on all patients with one or both medial crura that appear too wide.

It appears that there is a caudal septal deformity that is responsible for your problem, and it can be addressed with a fairly limited revision procedure. Consult a facial plastic surgeon who performs Rhinoplasty frequently.
