Problems due to septoplasty - when I breathe, it sounds like the left side of my nose is whistling. What should I do?

Dear Deepak Sharma~Thank you for your question.  It's possible that you have a small perforation in your septum.  There could also be some other area of internal obstruction that is causing turbulent airflow through your nose.  I would consider getting another consultation and exam with an ENT or rhinoplasty specialist, as there may be a correctable cause of your breathing issues.Best wishes,Amy Hsu

Since you are only a couple of months out from your procedure it is possible that your nose is still healing, has sutures or crusts that are causing the high-pitched sound when air goes over it. You may have a hole in the septum as well. I might try neti pot saline irrigation first. If the noise continues for couple more months you may want to speak to another otolaryngologist. Some non-operated noses whistle as well and having surgery could also have increased the awareness of the sensation and sound your nose makes.
