6 months post-op - what does it mean if nipples now look like they did before? (Photos)

I had gynecomastia surgey six months ago. Roughly a month and half after the surgey, my nipples started swelling again, I thought it was seroma and it will go away after while, but things were getting worse, I went to my doctor, he said it is blood clot and I need to wait another six months, which didn't make sense to me. I searched online and couldn't find any case like mine. Is this a result of failed surgery? Did my surgeon mistreat it by removing fat tissue and not breast tissue?

Thank you for submitting your questions and photos.  I'm sorry the results of your gynecomastia surgery is not what you had hoped for.  Without seeing your pre-surgery photos, it's difficult to determine what has occurred here.  The surgeon may not have removed enough tissue, but there are other reasons why breast tissue can return.  These can include weight gain, hormone replacement, pituitary issues, cannabis use, etc.  I recommend you consult a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss options to improve the contour of your chest.
