Fluid drainage should be checked by your surgeon. If you've had a large amount of fat removed, there may be pockets of fluid that need to be emptied by the surgeon.

Continued leakage and increased nausea are both troublesome this late after your treatment, and would be best evaluated by your surgeon. Please schedule an in-person follow-up appointment and don't let your surgeon continue putting you off with phone calls. Best of luck to you.

You should follow up with surgeon at his office to be evaluated.  It is not normal to have drainage 8 days after surgery.  Something may be brewing such as an infection or it may be a fluid collection that needs to be drained.  I hope everything resolves soon.  

Thank you for your question. Usually by this time leakage should stop. It may be seroma or starting of infection. Please see your PS for evaluation. Your nausea may be from meds. Please see your PS and express your concerns

it is possible to leak for a bit longer, but 8 days is quite unusual. it sounds like you may have an infection. however, you need to be seen in person to help determine this. Also it is not normal to feel nauseated 8 days after Smartlipo. Again this may relate to having an infection or may relate to whatever medication you are taking. you should call your surgeon for an appointment in the near future. david berman md
