It's been 3 months since I had Smart Lipo and still no change.

Hi There, Do you have any pre and post op pics? I would say it that if you truly had 4.5 L of fat removed, there would/should be a difference.  Without pics it is hard to decipher.  At 6 months you will know for certain where your end point will be.  Continue on your journey, ask your doctor for pre op pictures and compare to where you are now!

hello adris1995 Liposuction patients can see results of their procedures as early as 10-14days after the procedure, but improvements continue 4-6 months afterwards as swellings and irregularities resolve. #compression #post-op.

Thank you for your question! I'm sorry to hear you are currently unhappy with the little change you are seeing. Unfortunately when it comes to SmartLipo, you won't begin to see it's benefits 'til about the 6 month post op mark. There's generally a good amount of swelling and healing your body will have to go through, so you will just need to be patient until then. Should you still be unhappy after 6 months I would suggest a reevaluation with your surgeon regarding a possible touch up to the concerned areas. Good luck!

Thanks for your question. I hear this one frequently. Yes, it really is at least a 6-month process to see results. I know it's frustrating, believe me. But, I have patients back even a year later who report continued improvements, especially in skin tightening. Hang in there.

You don’t mention your weight before the procedure, but 4.5 litres is a significant volume of fat to have been removed. So if you’ve maintained your weight the expectation of visible results remains, but only after some more time has elapsed. In another three months your pictures should tell the tale, but also the thickness of skin as you pinch the areas treated. Sometimes despite this layer of fat being much less, the overlying skin can’t retract enough to give the result you anticipate. For now be patient and keep your weight down!

Somewhat opposite to what you would expect, most of your improvement comes between months 2-6 and not in the first 2 months. Continue to diet and exercise as these will also help you get a good result. i tell all of my patients that Smartlipo will reduce the fat, but if you want your best results, you will want to drop your overall body fat through better eating (see Paleo Meal Replacement as one example) and increased exercising)hang in there and wait at least 6 months before assessing the final result.david berman md
